Site: 18CV60 Angelica Knoll Context: N/A (See Site Summary) Context Date Range: c. 1650-1770 Metal: Silver alloy, with some copper content Maker’s Mark: None Description: Undecorated bodkin with one long eye and a small hole at one end. It was probably rendered useless by the break on the hole at the end and a severe bend. Inscription:
“MB”; Historical documents have yet to reveal anyone associated with
Angelica Knoll who might have these initials, but since the area was
a gathering place for Quaker settlers, it may well have been lost by
a visitor rather than a member of the Johns family who lived at the
site. |
